Default H9 Hellcat vs H9 P-40 Retracts

Are they the same? Could I put the P-40 60 Mecanical retracts in my H9 Hellcat 60? I need some new ones because mine has taken a beating from flying off of grass.

Thanks

I have some new H9 Hellcat retracts still in a new centersection. You can have them for shipping cost. Probably $5- $10. PM if you want them.

Same retract, maybe a different strut. The struts should interchange between the two units.

Thanks John, that's good to know. I noticed that the part numbers are different also.

I pulled the rotating H-9 gear out of my P-40 and F4U and there the same base units the struts were slightly different lengths

The Kyosho P40 (50 size) uses the same retract also with a different strut. I found the H9 struts too soft with the single coil and that the strut bending will cause the retract to wear sooner then fail. Change the strut out to either Robart or VQ oleos or go to a dual coil strut wire. You will find you have less problems on the grass. The retract body is pretty stout and will last a pretty fair amount of time especially if you change out the strut.
