Disclaimer: By reading and viewing the information contained in this thread you may find yourself staying awake at night attempting to unravel the mystery, or worse find yourself awakening with balsa dust and CA on your hands totally unaware of how it got there. The best course of action to remain cognoscente about what you think you may know is to take all precautions, including wearing your dark shades while you read all information in this thread. Man, I have too much time on my hands; pass me the CA and kicker.
Top Secret:
A few members of the MVAA Area 51 squadron; combined with and support from some of the OKSS have began design and fabrication of a giant scale aircraft not typically seen during warbird gatherings. I wish I could tell you more, but was only given permission by those in extreme levels of secrecy with-in the squadrons to divulge what you are reading now.
I have obtained information and the attached photographs via a FOIA, but was refused any further comment concerning this project.
Given the technology available, the skill sets, and the persons involved with this project I dare to speculate on it, however it could be a UAS, WWI or WWII bird, or maybe something so futuristic even those closely involved shutter to think of what it might be.
Only time will tell, so to keep informed you should subscribe to this thread by selecting this option at the top of this page. However beware of doing so because you may be contacted late at night to assist the team on the dark side of their facility.
By the way I hope you have a lot of time to wait because, wait someone is …. Shhhhhhhhh

RE: Crypto Clearance Build
Hmmmm... I'm supposedly "in the loop" and I cannot even begin to guess what's going to take shape from that pile of foam.... does look like a reasonably lengthy chord on the wing, though! I like to see that! (which suggests to me it's going to be BIG).

I also noticed you updated your domicile on RCU due to your upcoming relocation to the local squadrons. We are all looking forward to building and flying with you soon.
Just be aware now that you have received your MVAA Area 51 Crypto endorsement on your secret clearance there is no turning back.[X(]
See you on the dark side.

Glazier808 haven’t we flown formation on RCU in the past? Ah I know now; 12-29-2011 we flew a sortie when you became my Spitfire Brother #15. Glad to have you interested in this project. Be careful though, others from the dark side may be monitoring these transmissions.

Hmmm..... Looking at the airfoil, which seems to be laminar, and the taper, my guess is a Mustang, But I could be wrong.......

I like your style of using the old process of elimination; smooth. “I could be wrong.......â€

Merry Christmas to all who have ventured behind this veil of silence.
Due to budget cuts, time restraints, and other RC projects with-in our group this project has been on hold, but will return to production in the future.
I can only say there are two sets of prototype plans Maser and I created, and that our friend Charlie Kellogg prior to his passing inspected the wing rib aerodynamics and determined them capable of creating the appropriate lift needed to carry a plane of this size and weight. We will all miss Charlie and his valued input for this future project.
Casey, good to hear from you my friend.

Oh, man. Now that's funny.
But seriously, WARBIRDRCER, who do you think you are letting your life, work and family get in the way of oh-so-important hobby? You should be more considerate to all the rest of us here!

OK, OK, I'm putting my Top-Secret SCI clearance in jeopardy. I have to let the real truth to this project shutdown out. My inside source to these black-ops type projects, told me the real reason this project was put on hold, was that the president further withheld even more of the sequestered funds from this classified potentially Federal project. It is a Federal project isn't it. Smile. Happy New Year everyone. Chic
