Default Top Flite Giant Corsair

Anyone still interested in building the Top Flite Corsair? I've got some encouraging modification news. First things first, my #1 Corsair was build by the book with a G62 for power ..... turned out to be 30 lbs (with about 3 1/2 lbs of lead on the firewall) and flew like a guided missile. After the Rx failed and subsequent crash I decided to make a few changes on #2:

1. Replaced the retractable tail wheel with leaf spring setup.
2. Used 3/32 sheeting from the cockpit back.
3. The biggest difference? ..... I moved the firewall forward 3 inches.

This one weighed in at about 26 1/2 lbs and flies like a dream with the CG about 1/2 an inch Fwd of the rear limit. Best of all ..... NO weight on the firewall.

I don't think an F4U-5 looks "wrong" (in terms of the longer nose) ........ do you?
