RE: Sist FW190A8 1:4
It looks like the group stripe were made offical in February 1945...
20 February 1945
"B.Br.Nr.2/45 g.Kdos.
Subject: Jagdgeschwader Markings
Encl: 1
By the order of the Reichsmarschall and for purposes of improving aerial
recognition, Jagdgeschwader aircraft are to be marked by
fuselage-encircling colored stripes as indicated in the appended
enclosure. Attention of troops down to platoon level is to be drawn to
these markings which should simplify the recognition and distinction of
our own aircraft."[/b]
Unit Colour of Stripes RLM Designation[/b]
...
J.G. 54 bright blue (24)[/b]
I could use some help with determing the correct color for the JG54 Bright Blue? Isee RLM 24 Blue, but I am not sure I would consider this Bright Blue.

I am building the 1/4.5 Vailly FW 190 on the other site. Are those landing gear from "AS-Scale"...over in Germany?
Like the Red 1 scheme as well... I have a copy of "Luftwaffe Camoufage And Markings" and RLM 24 is as bright a blue as they have in the color charts included...

I am not sure who makes the landing gear; you could contact Götz and ask him...

Also, thanks for confirming the RLM24...

Here is the color charts in the Camouflage and Markings book I mentioned earlier.
Now that I look at it...the blue 24 is actually much more "blue" in this picture than on this page in person...funny.

I am going to try to work on the LA7 and this FW190 at the same time. Still have a lot of work to do on the LA7 and for some reason the wing and body are matching up well which is going to take extra work to make that look right...

when you can, try and find the "Official Luftwaffe Color Chart" from Jerry Crandall
at Eagle Editions. Jerry doesnt carry this anymore, but it is found on EBAY now and
again. The colors are authenticated by Warnecke & Bohm, GMBH & Co who supplied
the original colors for the Luftwaffe during WWII
If you cant find one, let me know

I use Crandall's color chart mainly for all my Luftwaffe paint.
I also have the following charts as well, but always go back to Jerry's stuff
The Modellers Luftwaffe Painting guide by JR Smith
Colours of the German Luftwaffe 1935-1945 by Michael Ullman
Luftwaffe Colors 1935-1945 by Michael Ullman
The Official Monogram Painting Guide for german Aircraft 1935-1945 by Kenneth Merrick
plus a couple other charts I have collected over the years.
and also have the color formulas in the FW190 Vol II from Jerry Crandall as well

RE: Sist FW190A8 1:4
I am discussing a FW190 prop with Seidel props that will have the hub rings milled into the wood.
Mario made props for my P-47 and LA7, and Iam extremely pleased with how they turned out.

RE: Sist FW190A8 1:4
Glad to read you are pleased with your Seidel prop. Since I have changed engines from the EVO99 to the Moki 150 I have been interested in looking intothe Seidel prop. I have sent several emails, via their web site, looking for a quote/delivery for a 1/4.5 scale 190A prop, but so far no response...?Any suggestions?
