Forced to take a year off to rehab a flood-ravaged field, we are pleased to announce we are back in better shape than ever!
Saturday, September 8, is the big day.
Award-winning BBQ, more than $1,000 in prizes, unique trophies, and a relaxed friendly atmosphere guaranteed to make it worth the drive.
The field is smooth and green: 340 ft of PetroMat and 630 ft total runway, unlimited and un-cluttered flyover area.
Because multi-engine pilots are so distinguished and rare, we have expanded the eligible to Warbirds and Classics, but multi-engines will still be celebrated and specially privileged.
Landing fee of $15 per pilot. Prize-winning BBQ included.
That Sunday, September 9, is rain-out day, or just stay and fly some more and eat leftovers, if you're having too much fun to leave!
Lots of nearby motels. Field feels remote, but is only 5 paved miles off the Interstate. See flyer on our website:

I hope you can join us.

This was The Radcliffe Weekend
Rained out Saturday, gorgeous today.
And, yes, for me it's always practice, especially in that company!
Come to think of it, Where Were You Guys?!
Besides the bombers, we had quite the expert heli display. All Day.

You guys need to jump on board and harass Mark into flying Frenesi and then bring a crowd down to cheer him on. He's had it for over a year and hasn't flown it himself yet. It's not a real plane unless it gets flown :-) Right Mark? Besides, the more we have here the more fun the fly-in will be. Can't ever have too many pilots show up.

Oh, yeah, Dave???
Well, word on the street is YOU have a nice B-17 sittin' around that hasn't been flown, also!!
Get that one going and we could have SIX in the air at one time!
I just might have a picture of that one in my files somewhere....here it is. That's you, holding it back (if ya know what I mean)

We'll be glad to have you any time, Jeff.
Sunday is usually a much more relaxed day: all the prizes are given out Saturday, but you already have won enough of those, right?
Weather Sunday is forecast to be even nicer: high of 77 and basically ZERO wind

Only the picture in Post #2 is Radcliffe: Dwayne's private strip. It's in good shape
All the other grass is at our field near Ames, not necessarily this year.
Grass got pretty brown during the drought, but has greened up surprisingly after 4" of rain in the last several weeks

Thanks to all pilots and spectators who attended our Fly-In this year.
26 pilots, our best turn-out yet
I'm sorry for the surprise cross-wind that grounded most of us Saturday
Those of you who could stay for Sunday know that it was unspeakably gorgeous with winds 3-10 mph right down the runway.
We flew till we were exhasted and sun-drenched!
Thanks again for coming and I hope to see you again next year
