Default spring air retract question

Hello all, I have a question for those who have the spring air retracts, AIR up spring down,,, How do you store your retracts,,, what I mean is once you unhook the airline (remove the wing) the retracts go down,, how to you keep them up,, I have seen bungee cords, but those leave marks and dents on the wing? So how do you guys do it? thanks

I have six sets of them. They need to be stored with the spring extended not compressed. Better yet give them a call. Please post their response. I am curious. I use masking tape to keep the gears in the up position during installation and initial testing. Dan.

Given the reliability of Spring Air, mine are always in the down position. Keeping them up is pushing against the spring that brings them down and I personally do not want them to not come down and lock cause I weakened the spring by forcing them up. You could always get a tank and fill valve and hold them up with air pressure. Good Luck, Dave

Mine are always stored down but on the odd occasion where I have to store
a nose leg up for short periods I just retract the leg with a nail file on the
trunion & slip some foam between the leg & the fuselage.

For long term storage I would just remove the legs, one grub screw each & it's done. - John.
