Hi i go by topgunreed and i love the hellcat i own one my self it,s the hanger 9 arf ,I have had it for about four years now and shes still going strong so if i can join that would be great so i can talk with guy,s and get tip,s and give some also thanks

I have an ESM F6F I'm flying, with Sierra landing gear, a PTE 36R, and guided by an Airtronics 10G. It has onboard Tx operated engine shut off, electronic RPM gauge and has four batteries. Two 3300 ma. for the receiver and two 2300 ma. nickel batteries for the ignition. My model came out tail heavy, so used the batteries as nose weight. Model weights in at just over 20 lbs. and was repainted to match those fighters that flew off the U.S.S. Bunker Hill.

Sign me up. No photos this post but the 'list" is as follows 3 Byrons I Ziroli and 1 Yellow. Only 2 of the Byrons and 1 Ziroli are flyable. I of the Byrons was partially built by Legendary ww2 fighter ace Walter Goodspeed. That HellCat will be a "Hangar Queen" after I fly it

I am not aware of a Yellow kit for the Hellcat. Possibly you meant a Don Lien/Bob Holman kit rather? Or is there something coming from Yellow that we need to know about?!!!! Love to see some pics of your birds here if you are willing.

Speaking of Byron Hellcats, here are two built by good friend and fellow One Eighth Air Force member Austin Goodwin. I don't think he wil mind if I share his work. Number one has gone to model airplane heaven but the second is still alive and kicking. Austin is a terrific craftsman and these birds look (looked) as good in person as they do in the pics. Both have featured air operated sliding canopies as well as the usual flaps and retracts.

I have the top gun winning pro am Hellcat that I stole from the Aussie who flew it here last spring.
It had one of the lazer vtwin engine installed it will likely end up with a DA50 in its incarnation as my daily flyer.

The current issue of "Flight Journal" reports: "America's champion ace-maker, the F6F Hellcat, also produced the most aces in a day." My Tower Hobbies F6F model performs so well in dead stock condition that, with the exception of my "just fly at any altitude" modified prop discussed on the "Park Flyers and Backyard Flyers" thread, nothing is required to bring it up to my performance requirements. At the moment it is my number one "buddy box" trainer.
Given the life and death struggle in the culture war for Western Civilization values, I am on the record favoring an invasion striped RAF roundel insignia festooned "Ready To Fly" big Park Flyer model of this obviously under appreciated fighter. Some real WWII fighter pilots were involved in helping assemble and field modify their planes. RTF fighters make me feel more like a real fighter pilot than was ever possible when I used to spend vast amounts of precious time building my own creations. So, bring 'em on and If I can find a place to put them I will buy them!

I have the Hanger 9, 60 size I have been flying for about three years noe, it"s powered by a os 91 fs. But I just got an old Ziroli scratch built from plans that a buddy of mine had, Needs a total restoration, needs motor, electronics and paint, has robart retracts though. My dad flew Hellcats when he was in the Navy.

Some more full size inspiration for you guys. The first is the recently completed F6F-5 of the Flying Heritage Collection in Washington and the other is the recently repainted airplane which belongs to the Lone Star Flight Museum in (where else?) Texas. These represent my two current favorites among Hellcat survivors. These are not my pics by the way, just some I found on the net.

Hellcat Brother #13 here. Thought I'd finally post the pics of my trusty old CMP (knockoff) Hellcat. You may remember these from 7 or 8 years ago. The advertising pics had a poker hand of cards on the cowl. I just happened to have Betty Boop available. These are out of scale somewhat - the wing should be about 5 or 6 inches smaller to agree with the fuse, but the extra area helps to carry the 11+ lbs. They came with a purple-colored painted Solartex covering. I painted the top with Nelson's Specular (sp?) blue and some generic flat grey on the bottom. She's getting a little worn, but still flies great. Seen with my buddy's Corsair from a Gold Edition kit.
