actually not, the A6M5 has cowl flaps with cut outs for the seven exhaust stubs. I've been pouring over pictures and doing research for a while now on the Zero for a build, and I have yet to come across any A6M5s without exhaust stubs in any pics or reference material

my research shows that they went from the A6M3 model 32 to the A6M5 type 52. There may have been some that "made it out the door with the "old" cowl arrangement, but I have yet to run across any pics or references to this happening other than what Ram has stated.

Just ordered one, now I need to finish my TF 190 before the Zero Comes, already have a NIB DLE55RA to go in the Zero, from the pictures it looks like it's designed for this Engine, I guess we'll see what Robarts comes up with for the Zero.

I hope they sell a bunch of the Zero's and Focke Wulfs.
