Spitfire MK14
Hello,
I'm really considering in ordering the semi kit of this Spitfire.
What i still need is to know how this plane flies, and if the lazered parts fit nicely together.
The plan is to install a Vallach 60 4stroke engine in this unique Spitfire.
Is there already a kit in the air yet? I noticed that in this forum, some kits are under construction since 2014
so these ones should have been maidened already:-)
Pls help me in pushing me over the edge...
Kind regards
Eric

Hello Chief,
I think you got me wrong al the way...
You did send me the drawing with the Valach, so that item was ticked of my list.
What I was looking for now was some feedback on the flying behaviour of your magnificent plane.
This is, hopefully, not wrong isn't it?
I only am looking for some feedback on this beautifull kit from other modell pilots then the manufacture.
Regards,
Eric

Hi fokke. I had forgotten that the MK IX has a totally different vertical stab so a conversion to MK XIV would be way too much work. I may still be interested in a spinner though depending on the diameter as I have a Yellow aircraft MK XIV as well. Let me know the diameter and a price. If you could email that to me that would be great. [email protected]
Cheers,
Eric.

Hi guy's,
I've ordered a 1/5 Spitfire kit last week and I was wondering what the measurements are for the balsa fuselage stringers and hardwood for the wing? In European units please... :-)
Kind Regards

The plane needed just a few clicks of trim to the right and few down to fly perfectly. It flew at a very scale speed and after few circles, the pilot decided to check the stall speed with and without flaps...with no surprise, the plane can fly extremely slow due to its big wing. Landing went very well with flaps down, it was a calm day with just a breeze and it floated nicely.
CG was set at 135, the final weight of the plane was 10KG with HS 645 MG servos in all slots. It used a double Emcotec battery system.
The final result was great, the plane looks fantastic on the ground and in the air! The MK XIV shape is impressive by itself!
