The Spit tail wheel is a complicated affair. The full scale plane has a locking mechanism that keeps the tail wheel, mostly straight during take offs and landings. During taxing the wheel is unlocked and allowed to fully caster.

I didn´t forgot about this thread, but this Spitfire is on the second maybe fifth rail, but I still keep her in my mind. Maybe as you know, now I´m working on the Seagull Spitfire kit bash.
These two Spitfires are very similar, so I used some parts from this BT Spitfire on the Seagull´s (cowl, chin scoop, exhaust stack).
Last day I´ve done the composite cannon blisters for this BT 83" Spitfire. They are suitable also for Seagull´s one.

There is still problem with the wing. I would like to have parted wing. But I there would be very heavy joiner for the two half wing.
So I´m thinking about the three pieces wing or not parted wing.

Jose, do you have any picture of the joiner?
Two part joiner is the only possibility for the Spitfire 2 part wing. In my opinion the 2 part wing is more practical then the 1 part. I talk about it with many warbird pilots. Most of them prefere 2 part wing because of transport and storing.

Prekin,

the wing is not built yet. Still working on the cowl and fuse, but I can post the ribs so you can see.

Prekin,

Are you you still making exhaust stacks for the Spitfire? I'd like to get a set.

Awesome work you're doing!

Thank you for the ribs Jose.

Free Bird, yes I am still making the exhaust stack. Please send me your address (PM or via email). I´m able to send one set during next week.
Thanks for the good words.

Because I´m still working on my Seagull Spitfire, I decided to prepare some other scale parts. They will be also available as same as cast resin exhaust stubs, cowl, chin scoop, cannon blisters, etc.
I´ve done 3D models for the molds. Maybe I will also add the rear view mirror.

I can supply the rear view mirror in any scale you need Prekin. I had some cannons 3d printed in 1/4 scale as well but the cost on them is pretty steep. Will you cast yours? If so, do you plan to hollow cast them? They are going to be pretty heavy otherwise. I don't have a great deal of casting experience but I know some pretty amazing things can be done by guys who know what they are doing.

Your rear mirror looks great Chad! All parts I will cast will be particulary hollow, because of the weight and amount of resin. You sure now, it affects the price.

Maybe as you know, I´ve already had a exhaust stubs set. The stubs are partially hollowed. Weight of one set is only 100 grams (3.5 oz).

Aluminium models for the cast resin parts are done. The cannon barrel is partly hollow.
