Default Dave Andersen 1/4 scale Hawker Hurricane

Dave has designed and built the first prototype and given it to me to finish and paint. This will be a MkIIC with 4 hispano cannons which have been 3D printed. Wingspan 120 inches. Power will be a Hacker 150 spinning a 30 x 10 3 bladed Xoar wood prop. Hidden in the radiator is a sound system for a rolls Royce merlin. Electric retracts were custom made for this project. Electrodynamics light system. Rib stitching on control surfaces. I suspect Dave will release plans after successful flights completed on this prototype.

Is there a projected weight? under 45 pounds?
Is this going to be ready for display at Toledo in April 2016?
I cant wait to see it.

Not dried up. Was very busy getting this plane done. Now traveling thru end of April but will then start back on the Hurri in May in between good flying weather. In fact just ordered a full complement of Lipo's to power the Hacker 150 and a lipo to operate the scale electric retracts. Have full 1/24 nomenclature to blow-up to correct dimensions. Have all the klasskote paints and paint scheme picked out. Stay tuned. Roy

At some point in history, "Red 1" received the name "Nervenklau" which
translates to "Nerve Stealer" (or a literal translation of "Nervous Claw")

Center section framed up and all 4 spars glued in. Next is shear webs and mount gear. The plans do not call for it, but I added a 1/4 x 1/4 hardwood to the leading edge of the ribs to lock them in place, and to keep them from moving around (like Ziroli plans call for)

Who's gear and do they retract correctly by rotating a few degrees to pull up into the wing. I know the Sierra gear for Valley's Hurricane does that.
Just curious.

Here are the hollow fishtail exhausts 3D printed to exact scale. They will allow heat to leak out from the hacker motor and batteries. They can be printed in different sizes. If anyone interested PM me and I can provide the email for the guy making them

Is this the same person who did the intake and hispano cannon; if it is I would like to get some 1/5 scale cannons for mine.

Today I sanded off all the polyester primer off both outboard wings. A palm sander helps for the flat sections. Then wet sand to 180. I am very happy with results nice and smooth. Now can do chart tape for panel lines , gun blisters, and rivits then shoot klasskote primer over that. She is a big girl
