hey fellas....i just wanted to ask this question. I have the Topflight .60 size P-51 Mustang and I would like to put the Saito 14cc gas motor on it....is this motor enough or to little?

I don't know how strong your engine is. I used a 20cc gasser in mine and it wasn't too much.

There are several around here with DLE 20 cc's. Not for the faint of heart as they exceed 100 mph by quite a lot. Draw your own conclusions from that

Thanks Gizmo....the 20 sounds great and the speed is not an issue since I have a couple that do over 100. So I think I'll do the Saito 21cc gas to get that 4 stroke sound. Will definitely post a vid so youc can see how it turned out. Thanks for your help

For a given displacement glow engines are more powerful. Four strokes sound better in my opinion. Both are reliable if they are decent engines to begin with.

I'm sorry Bob....I should have been more clear. The comparison is between 4 stroke gas and 2 stroke gas....in particular the Saito 21cc 4 stroke gas vs the DLE 20cc

Check the specs per each engine. Particularly the recommended prop. Typically a 4stroke might use a larger prop due to better torque.
Then decide which is best for you. It's a matter of $, sound and type of fuel etc. No real clear winner performance wise in your situation.

Well the specs and prop size are almost identical. Now the gas issue isn't the same with one engine requiring 20-1 while the other is 30-1. Again not that big of a deal. Which leaves sound and price....it is a scale war bird. And that 4 stroke would sound great on her. Thanks for your input. I'll fill you in on my choice. Blue skies to you.

Have to disagree with you on the sound. I like to hear a P-51 scream in a dive :-)
