Is your 2018 warbird event Camp & Fly ready?
Is Your Warbird event or club field Camp & Fly Ready for 2018?
We've been doing the camp & fly thing for about 20 years and love it, and rcu threads by samparfitt like "2017 road trips" show that warbirds will travel to fly at a good event or good field.
Since warbirds are a passion of mine, I'm sharing this idea here - a growing rc movement - the camp & fly rcer especially warbirders! There is a warbirder out there looking for a r/c vacation.
We are getting town rcer’s that are doing the camp & fly at our field for up to 10 days, this is a small boost to the local economy and can be shown to the local government that our r/c field is a recreation and economic plus to the area.
I do know that out of town campers or rver’s like specific camping information like: where is the closest rv dump, is there power at the field, water, toilets, generator policy, pet policy, length of stay, fees? More camping information helps to increase the number of out of town rcer’s that travel to your event.

For those of us in the Midwest area I’ve set up a RC Camp & Fly Mid-West Area Facebook group (hope the FB link works) at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/354335668356389 where you can share your rc camp & fly information for this area. Feel free to add your club canp 7 fly info or your event ath accommodates camp & fly to this group. You may want to set up a R/C Camp & Fly Facebook group for your area then we can link the groups together.
What if your current field cannot accommodate camping? Providing concise information on good local campgrounds, B&B’s, restaurants and motels on your FB club page or web site helps, more information supplied shows you welcome out of town rcer’s at your event!
