Question Sticky Hinges

I got epoxy on my hinges for my landing gear doors and now they're sticking.I tried moving them back and forth before the epoxy set and it loosen them up some but not enough.I tried to put some oil on them to loosen them up some more but they're still stiff.I'm afraid that the servo for them isn't strong enough to operate the doors without burning out the servos.Would anybody have any ideas on how to loosen them up so that the doors open up freely? Thanks for any help that you might give me.

Moving them with epoxy before it's dried probably didn't help,, it just spread the epoxy deeper in the hinge,, I'd try and let the epoxy set a while then try and break them loose again,, Otherwise it's a redo,,

good luck

A little wd-40 on them and work them with your hand. It will help. For future reference. I take a tooth pick and put vaseline around the hinges before I install. I sometimes use Gorilla glue for hinges and it will foam out the hole and you have to protect that area.

Yea, vasalene or machine oil the hinges before you get glue near them.

You can try dabbing alcohol on them and letting it sit and working the hinges, it will break down the epoxy over time but it will probably take some patience.

If it’s only been a day or two carefully work some acetone into the hinge.
