I will be using a YS-91 on mine, when I finish it. Will be a little heavier since i'm glassing it, but a YS91 will haul it around with authority!!! It was either that or the Saito 100. I went with the YS because of its pressurization system. Tank location is no longer critical, and since it will be mounted inverted, it sits slightly below the fuel tank so with the YS you won't have to worry about the engine cutting out on you.... as much
always the chance of that happening.
Good luck with your spit.
oh one more thing, go with a 4stroker, nothing beats the sound and you don't want your spit to sound like a weed whacker

A friend of mine will be building the TF Spitfire and will be using the RCV 90 engine. This engine is a four stroke with a 2:1 gear reduction. It is supposed to swing a 16x14 2-blade, 15.75x13 3-blade, or 15.5x11 4-blade prop at scale rpms. Check out their web site for more info. www.rcvengines.com

Thanks for the info guys think I will stick witht he G-75 for the time being and maybe get something else if I don't like it, I do have the in-cowl muffler so this should help....Have been looking at the saito 150 same power as the G-75 and enough torque to swing a 4 bladed prop.
Other question I wanted to ask was is the a problem with cutting holes int ha air intakes under the wing, just thinking for increased airflow as there isn't alot of uninterupted airflow under the wings with the retract bays, servo bays and air intakes....

Hey Guys,
Im gearing up (I should say saving and stocking up) for my Spit building project. I too have considered the RCV 90.
I like the 4 stroke sound, nice compact power plant..(less fuss) I hear nothing but good things about it and Im just itching to try one!
