Is a quadra 41 with the purr power enough for the byron P 51. Let me know what you byron p 51 owners think?

Mine had a Zenoah G62 and seemed to be about the perfect powerplant. i did not have the purr-o-power.

Do you have the reduction drive? If so, apparently only the quadra 35, 42, or the Mustang 50 will fit. The 42 and 50 are good from my experience. I've seen one with a direct drive -62 and it was unreasonably fast (from a scale purist point of view.) You have to appreciate that it is a sport scale plane and not unlimited aerobat...

My G62 powered P-51 was probably a 100 MPH plane, barely. It did not look too fast in the air. It was faster than the 4 bladed Byro-drive ones. I agree that we do fly most of our scale planes too fast, but a Mustang doesn't look right flying at J3 cub speeds either.
