Default Removable Horizontal

Ok,
I did do a search and could not find what I was looking for....
I am wanting some input on how you go about make a removable horizontal. I am staring a new project that has a wide horizontal and would like to take each side off for transport....It would have a center section and each side would have to be removed...I can build it up out of wood or foam and sheet it .......

Thanks In advance
Ty

Default RE: Removable Horizontal

My friend's (CKNAACK here on RCU) Bryon Original P-47 has removable Horizontal. Each glass coverd foam side has an imbedded piece of aluminum flatstock about 1 X 1/8 with the vertical being the 1". Attached inside the fuse is a piece of "C" channel (machined or purchased, I don't know) to fit with little slop. To mount, each side has a SHCS (#10-24, maybe) tapped into the "C" channel and is accessed through a hole in the bottom of the fuse. If my poor description didn't cut it, maybe send him an e mail asking for photos.
