Dfalpha,
I believe this Spit has wingspan in the 52 - 60 inch range. I recall they were built very light with a weird foam like covering. I believe a .61 two stroke will fly it with plenty of authority. I would not go much lower than a .46 two stroke. I would recommend contacting GP if you have any other questions, ie.: CG.

If this is the small .40 size Spit,
do yourslf a favor and get a Good O.S. .46 FX a .61 will make the airplane uncontrollable on the ground. this is a very light airplane and doesn't need an excess to be fast and responsive.

I have one with a Thunder Tiger 46 and it flies great with it. No need to overpower it. I have standard Futaba 3004's all around and its more than enough. The covering looks good but starts to fall apart eventually. Once I find the time I will recover it properly this winter.
typical of retracts it needs adjustment constantly if you fly off grass like I do. I dont mind though, there is something up watching the wheels go up after a scale takeoff!
