Default four blade propellors

Hello!

Maybe I'm just showing that I don't read this site often enough (sorry), but, anyway, what's the latetst on big war-birds being pulled through the air by four (4) bladed propellors?

For quiet a while rumor had it that it just couldn't be done.

"Look at all those guys at Top Gun: no four blade props (except for the static scale display placebo's / dummies).
And these guys really know what they are doing!![8D]"

Approximately ten years ago I saw a beautiful Tempest, with a 4 cylinder OS boxer engine and a belt driven four blade prop, and it was just beautiful.

Since then: nothing (at least, so it looks . . . )

So.

What's the state of affairs?[8D]

Thanks!

jan

(Sorry for the crummy English . . . )

And watch out for my P51B/C next your.. You're in for a surprice..

Joe recently flew the reduction drive and 4 blade succesfully..

send me a pm if you want to know more..
