RE: Yellow P47 Build up
Hi guys,
I am interested in the yellow p-47 razorback and was wondering what the prices are for the arf version and the
deluxe kit version.
Would also like to know about any major problems with the plane from a building standpoint.
Thanks.

For prices you can look them up on the Yellow AC web site or call them. I have the Bubble P47 and there are no problems with building it. You can build it as a pretty basic plane and just have fun flying it or you can make it pretty scale and still have fun flying it. It's an excellent flying plane.

RE: Yellow P47 Build up
My P47D is finally ready. It has come in at 29 pounds with 1 pound in the nose to balance. I have made it slightly nose heavy to make landings safer. It has a 3W 60cc up front and has sequencing gear doors and bomb drop. I reinforced the firewall but am a bit worried about the weight. I'm using Futaba 3305s on 6volts. Still double checking the systems... tail gear tends to hang. Not sure whether my home field, at 600 feet, is long enough for the first flight.

Try using a little flap on your first take off. Just enough to create lift, 15-20 degrees. After you get the feel of the plane you'll probably decide you don't need them the next time. 29 lbs is a little on the heavy side but there's a lot of wing on the P-47 so it should handle things fine.

Harigo-Have no fear-My Yellow is (was) 29 3/4 lbs, G-62. I fly off of 650' grass and she never needed that much runway to land. Use full flaps on landing -very effective and you will be amazed how slow she flys in the landing configuration. Lost mine to a mid air last year, but was the easiest to fly scale bird I've ever owned-Regards-Mike Oberst

servo. But no damage, some minor maintainenace issues though so only one flight so far

RE: Yellow P47 Build up
Hi Doolittleraider, so thats you in the rcwarbirds pics, Im the guy with the silver P47 from the U.K. I had a to do a belly landing as well on my first 2 landings eeeeeeek, no damage though appart from the prop. first was because of a dead stick and second was leaking air, only one leg came down and would not go back up so plenty of inverted flight sorted it out[X(]. Now got 500lb bombs on it and soon a drop tank, all from the hanger 9 P47, they fit the yellow and dont cost an arm and a leg, after a bit of detail work and spraying they look the part.

RE: Yellow P47 Build up
I have 3 flights on mine. It weighs 30 lbs with a 70 cc in it. I fly at 4200 feet here in Utah. the 2nd flight the retract valve had vibrated loose so it was a belly landing on asphalt. Little damage prop destroyed of course. 3rd flight I had to abort the take off due to a rich engine. During the abort I was almost at take off speed so it did a little 180 which bent one of the struts, not noticed until I got it in the air and the strut wouldnt stay up ( didnt lock) now I have to get the strut unbent, any thoughts?? I imagine it is due to the weight of this beast but it sure has a presence in the air..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVg-qGSuTJ4 link to my latest flight fom Saturday.. sort of bounced on the landing then ran out of runway, 180 not intended.

Asanders...great video especially your low passes with the snow covered mountains in the background....reminded me of the photos of world war ll with the p47s of the 350 fighter group 345 fighter squadron ( the scheme I chose ) flying over the Italian Alps.....thanks for the video.....Rcpilot78
