Congrats on 3rd place hover competition[/QUOTE]
Not a hover competition. This is mimicking full scale aerobatics. Guess you can call it sorta scale.

Was just stirring you up a bit there mate hehe.
Ok ok today's progress consisted of marking out, taping up for the D-day stripes, getting primer on and the white.
Will let it harden overnight then tape up ready for black in the morning.

Pete, might I suggest dropping an EME 55 in that stang of yours? Super reliable power at an extremely fair price. You might be further ahead. I bought one for my 1/5 scale Spitty and have been completely impressed by the power, quality and reliability.http://milehighrc.com/EME55CC.html

the lurker speaketh!! haha
yes thanks mate been a long time coming and quite pleased with results.
Some small jobs still to do:
- clean paint of wing tip nav lights LEDs
- mount fuz to wing, mark outline of wing fillets
- put on anti-slip surface to wing near fillet
- paint black to rear of cockpit
- paint on the red no step zone on flaps
- fit nav light covers
- send oleos off for service (oil damped - leaking)
- nomcleature applied
- Think about weathering and how to do it. One job I do not want to stuff up.
Too little is ok, too much will run all my hard work.
I'm only doing minimal weathering as this is based on a a restored bird.
- once weathering is done apply top clear coat to whole model.
- systems fitout
- weights and balance
- ground runs & radio range test
- test flight & certification
cheers
Peter

Yes we do! I have several kits to get building but the job just keeps me on the road, Im in Egypt now but back home in Montana I have 2 Top Flite zeros to build a P51 and a Corsair a Waco YMF3 and 3 other Carl Goldberg kits all .60 size though Im not quite up to your size. I love the P47 that's why I started reading your thread and plus I liked your humor and building techniques. All the guys on here have had great tips, comments and yes, a few funny jabs. makes everything fun. Ive still not read every page but I will. I hope to check back from time to time/ I work with several Aussies and we have a great time. Best of luck Cheers for now

Ok have had flu most of the week so little progress.
Mated the the wing to the fuz to mark out where the fillet sits and size up the non slip surface which will be yellow 120 grit sandpaper from the roll. Cut to size then sprayed with primer and top coated with black. Will glue that on with canopy glue i think.

I use 3M's #77 spray contact the old stuff, the only draw back is you have to mask off the area, and then it is just a lite squirt a little more on the sand paper wait bit line it up and stick it. never had it peal.
But that is just me !
Cheers Bob T
PS sorry about the flue nasty stuff.

thsnks mate. All that sort of stuff is pricey and not that easy to obtain here. Besides I have canopy blue and that is what I used. We're fine. Taped edges down wile it set.
Also so glued on the clear covers for wing tip nav lights.
That at is about it for this weekend. Now back to watch the footy.
Cheers

Well Pete its been a bit sense we have heard from you as you usually have something to say
So I'll ask how is the replacement on the wheels going ? I am still trying to sell one of our cars, but as winter come there will be fokes that will be looking for a winter car.
Got out to do a bit of flying with the 300 and the Weeks, no chance to fly the 47 as it been to windy or to much cross wind for me, this next week I get 3 days off in a row so will try at least one of them with the 47.
cheers Bob T
