Default what engine?

What is the best gas engine for 90" span warbird such as me 109 or fw 190? Would 3W50 be enough?

Default RE: what engine?

I would recommend an engine like the G62 or above. the DA50 is a great engine but not for that size bird. Course it depends on how heavy it will be. The 3W 75cc engine would be great along with the first place 4.2 cu. in. ZDZ makes a great engine in that size also.
I would perfer a rear intake engine for the 109, but a side carb would work in the 190. due to the round cowl. There are many engine manufactures in the 60 to 80 cc range to choose from. I know the G62 is very reliable and so are the others mentioned. Kind of like which is better, Ford or Chevy. Talk to your giant scale buddies that you fly with and see what they use. You buy what they are using they can help you set yours up. Just my thoughts.
Good luck.
