Default F8F Bearcat Flaps

Does anyone know if the flaps on the real F8F-2 Bearcat are covered with cloth or aluminum sheeting? We are building a couple of Top Flite F8F Bearcats, and we would like to get the flaps looking right. Thanks.

The flaps and all control surfaces were fabric-covered.

Thanks. They do look shiny on the pictures that I've seen.

Excellent John:
I would love to see it. Some day I will have a Bearcat. Ziroli's is the perfect size. I am working on a 3W Tigercat. I am also doing a 11' DH-88, I was with Bill turner when he had just finish this full size at Flaybob airport. I am sad to say he passed away last year. He was a great guy.

Hey! Richard and Mark, the Bearcats look awesome!!,
Thanks Roberto. Mark is doing an excellent job on these Bearcats. So far everything is straight and true. Mark is becoming quite a warbird builder (and flyer also).
