Default TF Spitfire which engine?

I am building a TF Spitfire....The specs state 61-75 2 stroke or 70-90 4 stroke....
The OS 90 looks a little bug to fit in the cowl. Would an OS 70 be a good engine for this plane? I will install retracts and flaps.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

how about an RCV .91 or 120? Totally different design to normal 4S. Cone shape. Look them up on the web.

The OS FS70 would be marginal on power, from what I have heard this kit tends to build on the heavy side.

cheers

Mine flew great with the OS 91 4stroke, Robart gear and flaps. If I did it again I would cant the gear forward a few deg. Sold the plane to ASanders and he loved it as well, untill I think a FW got on his tail.

I will check out the suggested engines.... The RCV RCV90-SP is interesting... and a little pricey... I will check the YS engines.

Thanks.

Was the OS 91 mounted inverted our out the side? Was it very noticable, the large egine protruding?

Can a hidden muffler be installed?

Thanks all.

I selected the RCV 90SP for my TF Spit. Check out the photos in my gallery. I hope to be in the air this spring. I chose it for two reasons. 1, it fits entirely inside the cowl, and 2, it will turn a 15.5 inch four blade prop. I will still need to cut cooling vents in the cowl, but I still think this will look better than having a head popping out. At some point, it sure would like to make a functional scale exaust stack too!

I'm using a laser 80 in mine, its is still on the building board. The engine fits entirely within the cowl inverted so only cooling required.

It may seem a bit expensive but you don't need any additional in cowl muffler. It has also allowed my to move my throttle servo and battery pack in front of the firewall which should help with the tail heavy nature.
