Ziroli P-61 Fuel Tanks
I love my Ziroli P-61, but the box behind the firewall is only 5" long, so the previous owner has 14 oz Sullivan tanks in it. That only good for about 10 minutes run-time with G-62's.
The space would fit a 5" wide X 5" long X 3" high tank, kinda like a squatty pancake marine tank, but I can't find any such tank for sale.
LHS guru and I came up with an idea to use a couple of 13 oz Hayes tanks IN SERIES, which would fit perfectly and almost double my run time.
Anybody have experience with that kind of set up? Is that OK? I certainly don't wish to take any chances with engine-out.

Series tanks work fine. The jet and heli guys use them all the time....hopper tanks. Have only the tank furthest from the engine vented though. You could also custom build tanks to fit the available space using brass shim stock....the way the ukie guys did it years ago.

Go to Hobby Lobby and get the Graupner tanks. They come in 3 sizes and are square(ish) in size. The middle size (17.5 oz I think) fit very nicely in my 101"B25.

Thanks for the feedback!
I think I will go with two 13 oz'ers in series.
The make-yer-own option had crossed my mind, and is intriguing, but involves technical skills I don't know how to acquire/read about/hire. Any one know of a reference source?
Of course there will be some ground-run testing prior to trusting a series set-up in the air!
