Default Adhesive to use on Ziroli Epoxy Fuselage?

I have a Ziroli P-40 Epoxy Glass Fuselage that I am doing some major kit bashing on in order to turn it into a P-40 N version. I cut-away the cockpit, stab, and rudder to make significant modifications. I need to add stuff back on with good adhesion. I have tested the following list of adhesives on raw, scuffed, and scuff/Acetone wiped sample sections. None of them perform to my satisfaction. What do you know that works?

Bob Smith 5 min. Epoxy
Bob Smith 30 min. Epoxy
ZAP Fiberpoxy (methacrylate)
Elmers PROBOND (urethane)
ZAP CA

Leo

(I'm also going to post this on the Composites forum and see what they say)

I use this Hysol product [link=http://www.contacteast.com/product/group.asp?parent_id=2936]http://www.contacteast.com/product/group.asp?parent_id=2936[/link] when attaching to glass surfaces. It is HARD and makes an excellent bond, plus it fills gaps.

Hysol make other products that are very similar to the E-20 and I've seen a rotating ad on RCU for the product number.

Get your self a gun, some nozzles and you'll always use it on glass surfaces.

you may want to try JB Weld - a product commonly used in the automotive area that sticks to literally ANYTHING and is so hard when it dries, you can drill and tap it. You can either order it on-line or pick some up at any of the auto parts stores....

I would think enough JB weld would get heavy? Anyway, contact Todd at www.dreamworksrc.com he has the hysol like Kelvin was talking about, its basically what BVM Aeropoxy is, but you dont have to pay for the name.

I always use West System epoxy, using reinforcing glass to join fuselage halves, etc. You can purchace West System epoxy in most boat shops or you can get it mail order.....

Leo, the best stuff I have found (and I have tried them all) is methyl-methacrylate available from Wayne Seiwert of Aerotech models here in Minnesota. Holds forever and sets up in about 45 minutes. $13.00 a tube ain't cheap, but I think 2 tubes would do you. I can get you some and mail it. Let me know. I used it on my 1/2 scale Gee Bee.
