Ziroli Stuka Landing Gear
I am trying to locate a Bob Shattalroe (sp???), formerly of Michigan, now reportedly living in Georgia. Bob makes a terrific wire landing gear for the Ziroli Stuka and I'd like to buy a pair from him. Anybody out there now how to reach him? Thanks,...WarpedWing.

yeah, I know Robart does. I may end up using those, but I think I'd rather have the Shattalroe fixed gear---presuming I can find him. Thanks,...Steve

STUKA WIRE GEAR..SHATTLEROE CUSTOM GEAR 31985 JOHN HAUK GARDEN CITY, MI.48135 PHONE# (734) 261-9064
Please post pics when you get it. I'm assembling info for this kit. I'm ordering the plans after Perry, assuming I don't find them there.

AirplaneNuts---I tried this number and got a message that the number was disconnected. No forwarding number. I've heard that Shattleroe has moved to FL or GA---but don't have confirmation of this. I've now assembled all the components to start my Ziroli build---let me know if you need any info. I even have a materials (wood) list if you need one. Good luck,....WarpedWing

RE: Ziroli Stuka Landing Gear
Thanks, WarpedWing. I will try to find his new contact info. When I do, I'll post it here.
Hey, you beat me to the punch. I saw your post on RCScalebuilder. If anyone knows, those guys should. Google didn't turn up anything new on him. I want to get that gear!
Thanks for the offer of the materials list. Could you PM it to me? I'd love to see pics as you progress, too, if you have them. This should be an interesting build for both of us. Thank you.
I'm curious. When I order the plans from Mr. Ziroli, how many plan sheets are there, and besides the material list, is any other data/building tips/etc. included?

AirplaneNuts:
1. send me your address and I'll mail you a copy of the materials list;
2. plans are sent to you rolled---in a big cardboard tube. I think there are 4 sheets---one of them is the template for all the ribs, formers, etc,...
3. They'll also send you very abbreviated directions. However, the real source here is the plans themselves---you'll need to study carefully. I'd also suggest you contact and then go see Slick Larsen in Marietta. He's built the ZStuka and most of the other Ziroli kits. He's a champ of a fellow and a very skilled builder. He's been a wonderful resource for me and plenty of other Z builders. Also, Patrick McGlaughlin of Canton has built a Stuka and has always been generous with his time.
4. I'd suggest you look into purchasing the formers/ribis from LaserLizard. I did and I'm glad I did so. It'll save you a lot of time and the price is very reasonable.
I'll be in touch as my build gets underway......WarpedWing

Thanks for the info, WarpedWing. I've e-mailed LaserLizard twice in the last 2 weeks, but no response. I may call him.
I'll be looking for a G-62 @ Perry next week. Are you using this engine?

Give Mace Gill a chance. http://www.theaeroplaneworks.com/ He's a great guy to work with. His Stuka kit includes the landing gear. It's similar to Bob"s, but you need to solder it.
You can follow my Stuka build here: http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/...?TID=2730&PN=1

RE: Ziroli Stuka Landing Gear
Guys, I haven't gotten my plans in yet, and I'm going to Perry tomorrow. Can someone tell me what size/types of wood is used in the construction? I'm not sure I can find wood @ Perry, but you never know! I'm also going to look for this wire gear.
Thank you.
Thank you.
