DOES A YS 120 SOUND TO BIG
I BOUGHT THE AIRPLANE AT A FLEA MARKET
I COULDN'T TURN DOWN THE PRICE
ALREADY FINISHED BUT NEVER FLOWN JUST ADD YOUR GEAR AND GO
THE WHEELS ARE A SMALL PROBLEM, FOR SCALE LOOKS USE THE 4" WHEEL ON THE GROUND
BUT FOR FLYING FROM GRASS USE THE 3.25 WHEEL
USE ROBART HEAVY DUTY RETRACTS WITH 5/32 WIRE
I DIDN'T BUY THE STRUTS YET
I CAN'T WAIT TO FLY IT

I've flown this plane with both the OS .91 and the OS 1.20. If it over 9 lbs., I'd feel safer with the 1.20. You will be able to do a lot more with it without risking stallout.
I also use the Robarts, good retract for this plane with the Robostruts. They are a blessing on grass runways.
I'm confused to the difference in tire size for display purposes. Why a 4" vs 3.25? I have the 3.5 Robart scale wheels on mine.

I was going with what the instruction book said for the scale people
after I installed my retracts and did the wheel wells with 1/16 balsa
I found out that 3.5 wheels would not work properly
so I put 3.25 and they fit

Scale wheel size on this plane is 4" in diameter. If you look at pictures of real Mustangs, you will see that the wheel diameter matches the spinner diameter. I have 4" wheels on mine with plenty of clearance:
The YS 110 is perfect for this plane because it doesn't stick out very much.

AWESOME RICHARD......TRULY AWESOME.... YOu make modeling the manageable sized WARBIRDS FUN and Interesting...I am probably sticking to the smaller birds UNder 80" now as it seems more fun for me not having so MUCH $$$$$$$$ in one plane...I can get 2 Warbirds instead of 1.... : ) Thanks for the inspiration and great examples......... Kits or ARFs Under 80" are just as Fun!!!!!!!
