CJM P51 CofG % of MAC
G'day guys,
hoping thee is an expert out there who knows about calculating Cof G and who may know the correct % of MAC to apply to a P51, in this case an 82" CJM version.
I have crunched my numbers and come up with the following:
Root = 50cm
Tip = 23.5cm
Sweep = 7cm
1/2 wing length = 103cm
Now after crunching all of this in a little spreadsheet I have it gives the following:
Assuming CofG % of MAC = 30%
MAC = 38.34cm
MAC distance from Root = 45.31cm
Balance point @ Root chord = 14.58cm
Now what is the correct % of MAC to use? I have read it is normally between 25 - 30 %, any idea the correct % for a P51? Of course the above results differ dependant on % of MAC being used.
Hope someone has an idea.
