Default Remote Glow Help Needed for Warbird !!!!!!

Hi Guys,

Hope someone can help.............. this is my first remote glow installation, as you can see im tryin to put it on my P-40............ the questions is i gather i must have something wrong..........

If i put the glow plug in the rubber cap claspin on the plug then attatch the glow starter to my remote point shouldnt the glow plug in the cap glow bright ??????????? because it doesnt, so im assuming ive done something wrong............

I have earthed the blue wire on the engine mount.... and its all connected ok and the glow plug works fine when putting in directly into the glow starter but it wont glow when connected to rubber head ?????

Can anyone help ????? i might be wrong but i wanted to test it worked before i went any further and had problems at the field....... a pics below soo hopefully that can show u how i have it....

Any feedback will be very helpful....... thx

Hello;
You did not say if you are grounding the threaded part of your plug.
Try touching the threads of your plug to your engine and then apply power to you plug.

Good luck

This may be a silly question, but is the body of the glow plug touching the engine when you attach the glow driver? Your description sounds like you've taken the plug out of the engine to test it. The body (not the post) must touch the engine to complete the circuit. A ohm meter will test continuity for you. One lead on the engine and the other on the body of your remote connection. Same to test the post to post continuity

as an afterthought have you thought about installing an onboard glow? It will mae that FS idle much better inverted and give you peace of mind when on finals knowing your engine has a nice glow glowing as the engine just ticks over on low revs.

cheers
Peter
