I'm currently building a Top Flite T-6 Texan from a Kit. I'm a ways away from being finished with it, and can't wait to get a warbird in the air. So, I've decided to go with an ARF for now--to quench my thirst until I get the Texan in the air. Also, to give me some experience flying warbirds before I put all of those hours of work in jeopardy
. My question is this. Has anyone out there flown this plane? What experiences have you had with it? Ground handling, landing speeds, etc. I'm probably getting one this month. I'm putting a Saito 100 on it.
Thanks.

Sorry about it... now I understand your other thread. I think Tim meant it in a nice way. Several people have finished it and I know someone has flown it with flight report in the ARF forum just today. I don't mean to just tell you do a search, but there's no easier way than for you to head over to the ARF forum and look for the H9 P-40 that has like 6 pages. The flight report is on page 6 I think.

One guy in another thread used automotive fuel line, but he had a pumped engine. Wouldn't work too well on one that relied upon muffler pressure for fuel delivery.

OS exhaust port slants backward a little, so with a 90 deg elbow, it will direct the exhaust pipe to the bottom center of the cowl.

I've been wondering if one could purchase some metric tubing nuts from an auto parts store or something? You could make a header out of the mild steel fuel tube, put a flare on the end, and you'd have a header as long as you need. All ya gotta do is bend it to whatever shape you need.
I did that on an old Saito .80, but I just used the header that came with the engine and brazed on an extension. I also brazed a pressure fitting in the tube that had a 45 degree angle on the end facing the oncomming exh. gasses. I got a little bit of tank pressure with that set-up, but not as much as with the stock muffler...
