Pete,
I'm going cheap. I'm using rustoleum spray can paint. I should have applied a little heavier coat on the wings to get a glossy finish, but this is how you learn this stuff.

RE: Top Flite Corsair almost finished !!
Finally got around to finishing my little corsair. I need to work on my finishing techniques. This one came out a little rough. I was surprised that the tiniest scratch would show through two layers of paint. All I can do is try to improve on the next one.

Be sure to check CG with the gear in the UP position and tank empty.
Balance it a little nose heavy on the suggested location.
Use the elevator control throws in the manual. More than suggested is BAD.
Watch the takeoff on this video and you will see that my elevator is a bit sensitive.

There was a few moments in this test flight where I thought I might lose the plane due to the
elevator being too touchy. Also go for as much aileron throw as you can get. Both of my
Top Flite F4U's have had slow aileron response. If they are slow on the test flight, be ready to assist the ailerons
with rudder input.
This is an older video as you will see on the date stamp. Its my first Gold Edition F4U and it had no choice but to
be a bit nose heavy with a Saito 120 on the nose. This one flew like a champ right from the start.

Good Luck
