You can very easily give the H9 Corsair the VMF-212 color scheme. The letters can be cut out of white self stick trim. They can also be ordered online. Same with the stars and bars.
ORIGINAL: mirwin
Here's the color scheme of mine. Capt. Robert Irwin (my father), USMCR, VMF-212, Korean War. Flew off of several jeep carriers. He also flew them during WW II. Mine is the GP .40 kit, 3 yeas old with many many flights. But I want a H9.

Thanks, Richard I get all my graphics from CalGraphix. He has a place on his website about my Corsair.

RE: Show Your Corsair!!
The Corsair actually belongs to my flying partner. Rather he build's them, and I fly them as his piloting skills arn't up to a GS warbird. No previous posts on the gear doors or cockpit animation. In short the gear door section was sheeted over, then fiberglass laid up over a release of monokote, Glass was built up to about 3/32 thick to match the sheeting, then the sheeting was removed in that area, and the doors cut out of the surrounding area and hinged. Sequencing was home built, then replaced with jtec (I beleive) after the hombrew became unreliable. Cockpit animation is just mini servos under the floor board actuating the control stick for elevator/aileron; another mini servo runs the rudder peddels, and is Y'ed with a second micro servo in the blue box pilots torso to swivel his head as the rudder moves. Cute set up, but it adds up; all up weight is 36 lbs, though it flies fine on the G62.

I constructed this from Brian Taylor plans in tribute to Col. Bob McClurg who shared this aircraft with Pappy Boyington. WS 82" OS 160 twin for power on board glo drivers, retractable landing light, nav lights and ID lights.

NWHT. I think they went out of Business. It's a shame to, as it flew like a War Bird Trainer. In a weak moment I carried it to Va. Wish I could get it back.

You guys really have some great building skills. This is my first airplane, other then my trainer, whih is a PTS Mustang. Since I built the Hangar 9 Corsair, I have decided that ARF's are not for me. I just finished a Sig Somethin Extra and next two planes are Aero Werks 28% edge 540 and then the TF 86 inch Corsair.

Tom that Corsair looks great, you did really well for a first plane. Me too, I have a RTF Parkflyer Cessna then the Corsair I'm now building. All of you have nice planes; great stuff here.

Here's my H9 rebuild after a catastrophic wing failure on take off (one of my buddies tipped her over and ripped off the port wing). Magnum 120FS with a 14 x 7 three blade.

RE: Show Your Corsair!!
Guys,
I'm looking for advice and information.
I have and love my CMPro 120 size Corsair. I have flown it this year with a Saito 180 and the retracts that come with it (garbage). It's not done scale, more to please the eye. All the pin striping is done in yellow and the nose art is a picture of Marilyn Monroe with her skirt blowing up. I called the plane "Norma Jean". This winter it is coming into the Hanger for a re-work. I am replacing the engine with a 26cc by Brillelli. I need to replace the retracts with air. Here's the question, which retracts and from where?
Thanks,
Trubrit.

My GP Corsair .40 size powered by a .65 sportster K&B, no problem building it, hardest part wings and turtle deck, easiest part flying.
Have fun
