Hey gary.
The reason why I want silver primer is because I paint with latex and its difficult to weather as far sanding with steel wool. If silver latex was used underneath it would be difficult to sand the top coat. Also when my plane gets hanger rash with latex it seems to expose the primer. If I had a automotive sandable primer the hanger rash would look more like weathering. Now I tend to fill these areas with silver paint.

Peter,
I've HEARD that Behr has a silver (or maybe it was aluminum) latex paint. That might work for you. I'm planing on trying it on my TF giant P-47 when its time. A search might produce a not too distant thread on it, if I remember correctly.

Peter. That Behr metallic silver sands very good (wet sand)and you can weather it with steel wool. I have not used it without a primer though it may work alright on a fiberglass surface.
