RE: 1/7 scale pilot
Dave,
The Century Jet site shows the 1/6 WWII painted pilot. The 1/7 looks the same (only smaller). I have a couple of their 1/8 Jet pilot in my CJM Phantom and they look good. I saw their line of pilots at Toledo a couple of years ago and they seemed to have a nice range in sizes.
FWIW,

I have a 1/7 CJ pilot its rough at best and will need allot of work to be presentable for my TF P-47 . got lucky with my TF Spitfire contacted Pete Richardson from Pete's Pilots and got one from him, he is semi retired and is not making many more full size pilots, he looks great though mabee with some flattery and some $$ you can score one of his offerings it took a while but was worth the wait.

Thanks guys, Mines on order from Century Jet.
Bob, they have great looking pilots and had 1/6 and 1/8 but no 1/7 full bodied pilots [:@]
Bigtim, nice looking Spitfire. I'll keep on eye on Ebay where he sells them now.
Smug, I also live in Sammamish Been out of the hobby for awhile and wondering what clubs might be around especially large scale. Most of the good hobby shops are gone.[]

There are a quite a few nice guys at the Marymoor Club. Mark Stearney (the pres) and Richard Le are particularly helpful. I know this because I just started flying again this year after 15 years away. There is a club in Monroe where most of the large scale guys tend to gravitate. Now that Abernathys is gone, Remote Control Hobbies in Woodinville is the best shop that I know of. Send me a PM or e-mail with your contact info and I'll try to help you get re-connected.

I have the CJ Brittish 1/7 pilot and agree that they are quite rough, but they're the only 1/7 scale full body pilots I could find. He was also quite heavy. I spent a lot of time with the dremel to hollow him out and get him down to 1 oz. Also ended up cutting off his butt, the back of his legs and he lost his feet to straddle the airtank.
Here he is in the TF Spit.

he did turn out pretty darn good I am encouraged by your results there was no way I could fit that CJ pilot in my spit cockpit it was too small, I just went with the TF plastic version and it cramped it up a bit. I was thinking he will, the CJ pilot, will be better suited to the JUG a much larger space. your a surgeon/magician for a top flight model the 1/8 scale is closer in size it seems

RE: 1/7 scale pilot
When visiting a full sized warbird, it always has amazed me just how cramped most cockpits are. Most models will have even smaller cockpits because of the thickness of the material we use in construction. I had to notch the shoulders so he can fit around the large cockpit rails in the TF Spit, but once in, it's not too noticeable.
