Default Air cylinder source?

I wish to activate my SBD-5 Ziroli Dauntless canopies via air.
Do you guys know of a source for air cylinders, specifically ones with a three inch travel? Robart is one source, however, not what I need.

I appreciate any help.

Chad,
Have you used Bimba on any retracts. I ask because I bought some for the retracts I'm making (TF GS P-47). I called in the order for the barbed fittings. What I got didnt look like that at all and havent been able to find it in their catalog. I ended up getting the barbed fittings from Clippard. Would like to get it all from the same source.

By the way, I like the cylinders from Bimba.

May i ask:why pneumatic? Mechanical solutions (=spindle drive) provide only advantages over air....
Best regards

I never really considered the mechanical servo option only because I'm accustomed to an air cylinder pulling and pushing the canopy horizontially through the rails.

Todd - wonderful design and if you don't mind, one I will likely utilize on my Dauntless.

Thanks for the information guys.

Edwin, do you recall their item # ? I need 10-32 threaded nipples for 1/8 tubing but I can't find them on their catalogue... I'm sure they are somewhere but dunno where...

BTW, thanks for letting me know about Bimba and Clippard, really awesome stuff!

I'll look at home tonight and let you know. The part itself was priced right, but it was pretty expensive for the shipping so I ordered 10 since shipping was the same price. They are 10-32 threads and made for 1/8" tubing.

Sorry for the delayed reply Edwin, I missed your post somehow. I've never purchased from Bimba directly but I have had a couple of sets of Dave Platt retracts that were equipped with Bimba cylinders. Don't recall the fittings being anything other than the usual barbed fittings but it's possible that Dave is sourcing them from somewhere else. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Here ya go. Its Clippard p/n CT2. They go by inside diameter. Might be a snug fit for 1/8" tubing but I believe it will hold good. Picture says it all.
