Thank you your respond. 3w50 is a lite engine. I should need about 4 lbs of weight. I will set the down trim to about 1/4" down. i have about another month to complete this plane. I also got to get motivated to the point that I can trust myself to fly it. I put carbon fiber in the landing gear area for strength, because landing is my weak point on the war plane. thanks again for all input.

Don't forget to hold some up elevator on take off roll. The plane will not take off too early. Remember this plane is very short-coupled and will nose over easily. That is why I suggested starting at 1/8th because this will help to prevent what happened to scalebirdman. Once the airplane is in the sky you can retrim and get used to the plane. After a couple of takeoffs then you can change the mechanical linkage to where it needs to be (and reset your trims to 0) as you feel more comfortable.

Just to make clear, have 1/8 down trim and then you said make sure hold some up elevator during takeoff. so, the down trim is for bringing the plane to land level? Thank You. do you think 3w50 will get this plane up and flying?

3w50 will be fine for this plane. Just be sure to ballance at the correct point regardless of how much weight it takes. The plane does fly very nice (on my one successful flight) shoot as many approaches as you need to get a good one, don't try to force a bad one.

I have completed the zero, there is no where in the instruction showing the center gravity for this plane. Please tell me where is the best point for balancing this plane? Thanks in advance

Plane should be balanced 5.5 to 6.0 inches behind leading edge measured at side of fuse. Mac Hodges has his balanced at 6" . I think mine is about the same. You will like this plane. Just don't crash it. Spare parts are no longer available.

Scalebirdman, I note that on your second plane you used 24" Solo prop blades, vs. 28" ones on the first one. What prompted that change? (Other than maybe a 2:1 thrust to weight ratio isn't really needed on this plane. )

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on this site much. The 28" blades were a bit much prop for the power combo. 24/26 worked better. Besides I already had the smaller blades on hand.
