Default Anyone Have a Nitromodels 90" P-38?

Anyone have this plane? I would like an opinion on the quality and whether it is suitable to modify it for retracts.

Thanks,

have it, flys great but built way soft in the gear area, it will be a great canadate for retracts, check out the build thread over in the twin section.

Hey beautiful looking P-38. Any chance of you posting how you set it up for electric? Motors, props esc ? In English for someone who doesnt know a lot about electrics. I ave had twins before but always dread that chance of an engine out. I would appreciate the info.

Thanks!

We are running hacker a50-16s motors on 5s lipo's. Hacker x70 opto esc, 17x12e props. Pulls 56 amps and 950 watts(per boom). Our weight is 17 lbs. with batteries, which are prodigy 5s 5000 mah. So a little over 100 watts per pound. There is 1 8 channel futaba reciever per boom, so a total of 2 recievers. 2 2350 mah reciever batteries, 10 servos. We added spring air retracts with the 7/16 " oleo struts. The plane flies real scale and is very easy to fly and see cause of its size. Retracts were a little work but not that bad. A great bang for your buck on the plane but still cost an arm and a leg in the long run. We are painting it to match the california cutie, but haven't finished it all yet.

Hey Jeff,
Just trying to reduce a little stress in flying lol. My eye is twitching again, I am ready for my vacation. My last official flight was the 15th. Shane took me off the flight schedule since I am so short! lol

PS Shane says he is gonna come down and move in with you for a bit when he is on leave hehe
