Hi guys i am looking to buy my second airplane and i was trying to decide between the Hangar 9 Spitfire MKII or the Hangar 9 Pulse XT. I know the pulse isn't a warbird but i love the looks of that plane. I was wondering coming from a novice's standpoint which would be easier to fly? I had a Hobbico Avistar MKII (which is the version that has the semi-symetrical wing). I sold that a while ago with the radio and everything cause i needed money and it was coming up on winter time anyway and there isn't too much flying in PA in the winter. So i am trying to decide between those two planes i really like the spitfire the best out of both of them but i am not sure how its flight characteristics are going to be? I am planning on putting a Saito .82 in either one of the planes and a JR 9303 radio. So any suggestions and help would be great thanks.

My opinion would be to go with the Pulse first. Good way to learn how to handle a taildragger and break-in the engine. I would not want a warbird type plane for a first taildragger to learn on specially if you fly off grass. I have not flown the Spitfire but I have or had a P-51, Corsair, AT-6, and a Hellcat and sometimes you need to be quick on the sticks to keep the nose out of the grass.

if you really want to fly a warbird and it being your first warbird i highly recommend the Hangar 9 P51 PTS. I am currently learning on it after an Alpha 40 and so far it has given me a great foundation to build upon. Check it out. They have an ARF and RTF Package.

I second that the H9 PTs mustang is a great plane to learn on, really easy plane to fly, especially if u install the flaps which make landings a lot slower and more forgiving. Tho im sure that u will do fine on either the pulse or the spit, you can always go buddy box till u get used to it. the 82a is an awesome motor also.

I have heard the PTS flies too much like a trainer and i am looking for something more challenging than a trainer. I already had a trainer that was more of an advanced trainer anyway it had a semi-symetrical wing so it wasn't as forgiving as most trainers.

with all the traning gear off it flys nothing like my old trainer, rolls are fast and handling is excellent. also it will zip along if u junk that 3 blader and put on something like an apc 10x7. just imo.

I think i am going to go with the Pulse XT w/ the Saito .82 and the JR 9303 and i will fly that for a while and then i will buy a warbird.
