Wow! Simply gorgeous. I really like those early Spits with the Dk Grn/Drk Erth camo. I can hardly wait to see some more pix of the plane and hopefully some video!

Absolutely incredible...detail on that door and gunsight is surpassed only by David Glen's 1/5 scale model. And, of course, his is not a "flyer". So, all I can say is wow! Impressive.
And more importantly, Jukka (Grumpy), glad to see you're making progress as well, your "stacks" look great...hope your health is better too...looking forward to seeing one of these birds in the air (dissapointed after tetsa's trouble).
Soooooo....not to bring up a sore subject, but I have to say, I'm still "Grumpy" myself, Jukka, to think that this beautiful creation of yours is not scheduled to be released into production as was first planned...
Fighter Aces, can you speak, at all, to the future of the model....has it truly been lost to the realm of esoteric competition? Or did you make new molds before proceeding? Is there any hope of anyone else owning one of these masterpieces? Or are we just supposed to turn camo drk earth and drk GREEN with envy!

Rick
Time did not allow new moulds to be produced during the project to complete this Mk.1a. The existing moulds are still owned by Ali, but are currently still in our posession. We haven't discussed any future plans for a good 6 months, but once the model is complete and we've returned from Top Gun in a few weeks....I'm sure the subject will be brought up again. Either way, a HUGE amount of work will be necessary to get moulds up to a production standard as there are unfortunately many errors in the existing ones, and many areas where they have badly deteriorated already after just '2 pulls'

Amazing spitty, Phil!
good luck for testing and maiden too! And waiting for Ali's results from Florida.. it would be so nice to hear that spitty roaring low pass in live!!
Thanks, Rick. my health is much better now coz living now in dust and fume free home. i've started working again on spitty too, but im far away from finished model!
updating thread when there is something to show, but it wont be as stunning like Phils work...

Well...guys...thanks for keeping a glimmer of hope alive.
I will, of course, watch for the top gun results and look forward to more posts and pictures of the great work you're doing...both of you. Phil are those gunsight parts "printed" they are amazingly precise.
And Jukka...don't lose heart...your incredible plug (how many man hours?) is the cake of this tasty treat...without which, Phil's icing would be...well...icing. (No offense Phil - it's great work).
I just hope you get credit, Jukka, when the spitty is presented at top gun because every time I look at a photo of the plane, I think of the individual panels on that plug, each cut, hammered, annealed and rivited...it was amazing following the thread in the beginning.
Especially, since your build seemed to be fueled by passion and BEER!
So, keep up the good work.
Cheers,
Rick

Fantastsic, brill', major congrates to you guys for getting this project airborn. Truely superb. Even without the sound system, the prop sound as the aircraft approaches is far superior to ANY IC power model. It's wonderful. Looking forward to hearing some digital pistion poppin' and seeing some weathering!!!Great flying, perfect landing etc etc... and that cockpit... wicked gentlemen.

Phil:
What do you think of the Solo at 16" pitch? Looks very good in the video
Any measurement of total mAh used and corresponding flight time?
Stian

That is magnificent. The prop noise is wonderful and I must say that is the most beautiful Spitfire I am ever likely to see.
Well done crew.
Bring on the sound and the pilot. Cant wait.
Cheers,
Brad
