Does anyone else out there remember seeing a pic in RCM mag about 15 years ago of an English gentleman who had built a working model of a Merlin? I seem to remember it having a 3 blade prop. I believe that it had all 12 cylinders firing but the supercharger was non-functional. My dream plane would be a Mosquito with a couple of these in her.

Thanks guys. Wow, that engine in MAN is stunning. Can you imagine the feelings that guy must have had when he fired her up for the first time? The sound must be incredible. Having an engine like that in a Spit or Mustang would sure blow em away at QSAA.

Richard Mahue is the gentleman that is producing the castings for this engine,it is a beautiful piece of work, however it is just the casting of the block and what you can see externally, much work is needed to complete for a working merlin engine. And the price for these castings is around 2900.00 dollars, not bad if you want to spend that kind of money for a good looking paper weight.

I never said it didn't run,if you read the post I wrote it states that it takes alot of work on the behalf of the kit casting buyer to get this to a complete and WORKING engine. By the way my mistake, you guy's were talking about an 1/8 scale merlin for which I did not know about and know glad to have found out about, and would like more info on. Especially if this engine is going to be put into production for purchase. Also the mahue merlin is 1/4 scale.
