I'm running an 18x8 zinger 3 blade on mine with the same spinner and i needed to open up the blade cutouts a fair bit.

Gentlemen

I finally give up on getting a set of KMP retract/struts/wheels for the bird. I had about every excuse given to me in the last four months on as to why we don't have any. I've looked at others but have talked to friends who have used other than KMP without much luck so I'm going with fixed gear and get on with life. Finally got around to the initial paint for this particular bird. Decided on a vehicle flying in North Africa during 42 and 43. I am using house paint from Ace Hardware to get the colors close and have managed pretty well so far. Being an electric bird it does not have to be fuel proof and covered pretty well when sprayed on. I did not try for a slick paint job but wanted something that looks like it had been painted in the field. I got that look and still have to finish panel lines and markings plus a little dusting for effect. Last thing will be a light coat of Testors Dullcoat to even everything out. The bird flies great and I had about a dozen flights on it prior to starting its paint. Look forward to getting it back in the air even though I'll be flying in the pattern all the time with the damn gear down. ed

Finished up the paint this evening or at least as far as I'm willing to go. I will install gear tomorrow morning and hopefully have things in the air again this Sunday. It's been a few months since I've flow her and she needs a little air under her wings. As stated earlier went with Med paint scheme and used Major stick on decals for the national Markings and Chevrons. Now to figure out what gears to use in future as for now I will stay in the pattern with my wheels hanging. ed

These photos taken by Sung Kim this Monday at field. Made a couple of test flight since paint. Had to add 6 ounces of lead to firewall due to paint. Final weight on eight cells is 11.5 pounds. Housepaint a little heavy but it got the look I was hoping for. Now onto the BEST electric meet this weekend with 6 of my warbirds already packed into van. In the end she has turned out to be an excellent flying air vehicle. Enjoy the photos. ed

Hi!

I just bough a Will Hobby FW 190, and got a lot of inspiration in this thread. I only have one problem; THE ARF CAME WITHOUT THE MANUAL! Anybody out there who can help me out?? I will of course pay the cost of a copy, or maybe it can be scanned and sent in pdf. I have tried to email Will Hobby, but no reply..[&:]

Hey guys, be careful if you like to fly warbirds fast and putting in only small gassers for this bird. I put a Fuji 32ei in mine and was dissappointed with the power. Tried swinging apc 18x10 with little luck, even though getting over 7000 rpm. Plane doing may be 70mph fly by, and I like to fly my warbirds fast and low. I'm seriously considering dumping the motor and slap a Fuji 43cc I have in the box. 43cc will add 10 oz of weight over the 32cc, still leaving me 4oz to spare of nose weight. By the way, I used the retracts I had in my CMP 120 Zeroand they fit perfectly!!! The retracts are Century Jet beefy 1/2" thick struts that they made custom for me. Make sure you reinforce those damn gear wells with fiberglass cloth. Mine had hardly any blocking reinforcement and glue, failed on fairly normal landing with only 4 flights.

Hey guys, I bought a will hobby fw 190 and another .40 size sport plane of some kind at a swap meet for $100, sold the the sport plane for $100 so now I have this NIB ARF for free! Can't beat that! Well, actually, I think I could have gotten $125 out of that other plane but felt kinda bad about doing that so decided I would pass on the good deals.

Only problem I have is the canopy is missing. I do have the manual so if anyone needs a copy I can make copies and send them. Would only charge actual costs. Does anyone know where I can find a canopy?

Btw, does anyone know which model this plane is? As in a, d, ...

Thanks guys,

Micah

RCU member "Fockewulf37"/ Ty Brown makes a nice canopy for the KMP/ESM 70" FW-190 and it's available from VQ Warbirds or maybe you could PM Ty and get one directly from him. It's close enough to the same size that it should fit just fine.

EDIT: wow, just noticed the date of the post I just replied too
