Top Flight P-40 Landing Gear
In doing a comparison of available retracts I have found 90, 95, and 100 degree rotating retracts.
Which ones fit the best and why is there such a variation?

The other problem is lenth. If you go with the lenth that fits in the wheel wells, the strut will be 1" to long and makes the plane look like Stork. Having said that, 90 or 95 degree would be closest to scale. The Robarts are a bit light for this application, The Century jets work okay from what I have read if you use a Robart valve or restrictors. The Sierra's are the heaviest and hightest quality of the bunch but require some mods to install. The Top flite P-40 works best if kept lite so you may want to skip the retracts all together.

Use the Robart 615's with Robo Struts and land it like you were in it.
I have made less than perfect landings with my TF P40 using this combo and it is hanging in there just fine.
Robart is supposed to have some new 90* rotating units coming out soon. I am waiting to see how they look.

Good luck on the new robart , they have been coming out for over a year , they will not release these ,
as far as angle of gear most go with the 90 degree ,
you have choice 615
Century jet --add JB weld to the top of the scissior spring and these gear will work flawless
Sierra gear is the best but for scale look you will spend $95 with the scissors added
