RE: SHOW YOUR DETAILED ARF WARBIRDS
Its an EPO Foamy by Airfield , I added rotating retracts , scale flaps , gear doors , interir and the full body pilot is from a Gulliows kit .
Also tri-color paint scheme .
Struts are home made functional spring loaded three piece plastic tubes that work just like a robart leg , but much lighter .

RE: SHOW YOUR DETAILED ARF WARBIRDS
Nice to see a thread on ARF's and detailing them that hasn't been invaded by the "ARF's are junk" or " If it's not a kit build, it'll never be worth the effort to make it look good" crowd. It doesn't seem that the majority of folks who have never done a kit bash or expanded their horizons beyond kit building can grasp the fact that ARF bashing is sometimes every bit as chalinging as a kit build. Sometimes more so. There's a lot of great examples here so far, guys! I'd be proud to show any of them off at our field. Keep 'em coming!
Here's a few pics of a minor bash of an older Kyosho BF-109 bash. Nothing to the level of Scale Dail's Kyosho P-51, but it's amazing how much a little paint and some inked panel lines can wake up the appearance of an other wise "ok" ARF.
This one didn't come with flaps, so those were added along with operating underwing radiators (to hide the flap servos), functional struts (Robart), Tailwheel mod, "trop" aircleaner/intake, some custom decals, a JG27 nose badge and a new paint job.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74oRvF_F9tQ One of the guys at the field posted a short vid/clip here. Not one of my best landings, but nothing got scratched or broken so I'll claim it!

I could not agree with you more!!!, I enjoy building but I enjoy detailing even more and these new generation ARF's are a great canvas for every one to express their artistic abilities.......or lack of!!!! any ways, all that counts is how happy you are with your final product.

Frets I'm loving the new paint scheme ! you are so right sometimes a little goes a long way and a little more can look even better
I gotta tell you guys I'm finding myself needing to stay away from threads such as these, if I don't I'm afraid I'll buy everything in site and quite my job just to stay home and play with my toys ! LOL and I don't think they have an AA equavilent for RC warbird guys LOL

srpet, Nice touch.
One of my pet peeves is seeing a really nicely detailed warbird, be it kit of ARFor other, with an empty cockpit! People spend a lot of effort detailing a really nice bird and then skip that finishing touch.
It doesn't so much matter who or what is in there....just fill the seat. Sometimes a caricature is a better fit than a scale pilot, too.[&:]

Thanks for the compliment.
Yes, it's Lusterkote Tan and OD green followed by flat clear after decals and inking. I just scuffed and painted over whatever Kyosho's covering is, masking out their decals and also adding some of my own. This ARF bash was a real quicky and not a whole lot went into it.
I'm currently working on a 71" KI 61 Tony that is more of a complete tear-down and reassemble ARF bash that is infinitely more detailed. I only have a few photos of it on the PC right now, but I'll post more later for those of you interested.

Above: I stripped the fuse and sheeted it to get it more rounded instead of box-like. Glassed it and used chart tape and high build primer for panel lines. Metal foil tape for various hatches and covers. Scratch built a more scale-like radiator and fairings. Stripped the rudder, added ribs and re-covered in cloth.
Below: Sratch ailerons and flaps. Strip and sheet wing. Rework gear bay and doors. Finish radiator. (Joke of a radiator supplied in kit.) Chart tape and panelize wing. Hatches and covers. Color coat and paint major markings. Beginings of weathering.

This was imported by Easy Tiger Models about 18 months ago. Apparently he's having some issues lately; regardless ETM isn't currently offering this model.
