On a positive note, I did finally get my missing parts for my Laird Super Solution thanks to some help from Gee Bee Jimbo. It's been 10 long months but I am happy to finally have a complete kit. I certainly hope you NWHT loyalists are right that the wait was worth the final product.

Jeff, looking forward to hearing what you think about yours. The Super solution is an uncommon kit, so I'm always curious about what each builder thinks, especially when they fly them. By the way, most guys are too scared to fly them once they build them, please don't be like them, Jeff, I want In-flight photos!!

Jimbo,
Thanks again for the help. I'm planning on starting the kit in early fall once BOTH my kids are in all day school and I have more time. I'm sure y'all will be hearing from me then as I'm still a bit foggy on a few of the assembly techniques........specifically how to attach the struts and how to make landing gear that will be strong enough. It's been a long time so I recently went back and viewed the flight video of the replica, for probably the 50th time, and got all geeked about this plane again. I'll be in touch. Here's a link to the video if anyone is interested.....you just gotta love his take off toward the trees and his last minute yank on the stick to clear them!!! :surprised

I'll be starting my Super Solution in about a week or two. I am currently putting in a wood floor for my wife and as soon as that is finished I am building the Solution. Finally flew my Gee Bee I recently finished, looks good in the air but I think the Super Solution will look better. Are you going to use the scale green and yellow scheme on yours?
I have some ideas on the wing struts that should work. When I get to them I'll post some pictures. I am still at a loss for the gear. I have no clue yet on making anything scale. If I can't figure anything out before they are needed, I will just make up a set of wire gear and use those for the test flights (without the wheel pants) until I can figure out something scale. I'll start a new post when i start the construction. -Scott-

Hey Scott,
Absolutely going to do the green and yellow scheme! Many have told me it looks like a bug but the color really appeals to me. I'm also trying to find a good picture of that flamingo emblem on the side of the plane to see if I can get it made in vinyl.

Here's a picture I found. The colors all need to be made bolder as they are a bit washed out. Next time I see our club vinyl guy I will find out if they are something he could do.

Let's see . . . How many Jims do I know that live in Etna, and know everything about the Gee Bee including how to insert a runty little dog as a test-fit for the pilot figure . . .
Hmmmmmmmmm. . .
You're in with a scary bunch out West here!
P.S. Minor fit glitch on this run of watersaver, reworked parts are being wlded as we speak.

Hehehe, Al the Pal, caught ya playing while yer supposed to be working, and more to the point, doing work for ME!! Yes, you got me, Ren is mine, or at least was before the divorce. But he still thinks he's mine. And I'm still working at finishing my Z, but getting a little closer all the time. Looking forward to the water saver. I assume that's with the silver reclamation unit integrated into it? (Bet these guys are wondering what the HECK we are talking about, eh?)

Keep building! ( and watch out for that JV guy, he's gotta be rich ~ just fly'in around in the big stuff all day and always ready to pull some new stunt in his Sukhoi - scare the crap out of you )

JV,
I'll try to be there. At this point I think I can as long as other things don't just get planned for me. Wish I had a huge Gremmie I could bring along.
Hmmmmmm There's a thought . . .
