Default What warbird for a US41

I have the engine. Want to put it in a warbird. Thought about the TF Giant P-47 but many say not enough. Any other recommendations?

Default Warbird for US 41

Hi Edwin,
There will be many posts with great suggestions. I have the US41 in a Midwest AT6. She flys great at half throttle or like a little reno racer at full throttle. The heavier engine makes you work a little harder on landings, but nothing serious. I have also seen a Dynaflite PT 19 fly very well on that engine, but have not owned one.

Good Luck,
Dave

Several people have added a Quadra 52 carb and B&B muffler to the US 41 & bumped the power quite a bit. Really makes the Amercan Eagle Spitfire smoke. Would most likely work just as well on other 80-84" warbird.
Take a look at this thread:

Default US41

Depends how you like to fly, a hopped up 41 will fly the 47, but verticle moves and blazing low passes would be tuff. I had a hopped up 41 in an American Eagle P51D and it flew OK at 23#.

Default P-47

I am using a u.s. 41 in a yellow p-47. I hope to fly it this sunday. It weights 25 pounds and will be more than enough power for scale flights. I had a 1/4 scale birddog that weighed 27 pounds and was over powered. Don't let anyone tell you that U.S. 41's are not good engines. Thanks WES

Lenny,
Caught you and another guy flying the twins at Austin on sunday. Really enjoy the flyins ya'll attend. The pit show is just as entertaining as the flying.

That TF P-47 on sale looks tempting. But I'll look around a little more to make sure I get the best bang for the buck.
Thanks guys.
Edwin
