What is the wingspan? Can you take a side profile picture? The obvious answer is that it''s a corsair - but I think your asking what manufacturer is the kit/ARF, right? You know it''s simple to calculate the CG for yourself, some kits/ARFs have incorrect CG information.

Default RE: HELP to IDENTIFY this PLANE

I would like to know the maufacturer...
it is not an ARF... someone built this bird. on the inside someone has identified each part in there own hand writting..
so I know its a KIT.. its actually an older one
the fusealage is very narrow so its not to scale looking I thought it would be a FUN SCALE....
CORSAIR yes thats the obvious.. lol.
the CG I figured to be about 20 to 30 % from the leading edge next to the fuse.
I balanced it there first.... which puts it about 2 and half inches back... since the wing width is only 12inches.
THE WING SPAN is 61 inches and all ready to fly it only weights in at 5 pds 5 onz.
I put a OS .46 FX abc on the nose I guess I will use a 11x5 prop for the first flight
I have a three bladed prop as well.... the kind that are found on the EVO''s
I want to fly this thing first with the APC 11x5 then experament from there....
I hope I answered all questions ....
but as far as more pics they will have to come later since I am at work.. THANKS AGAIN Ron

It looks like a great planes kit to me, but the GP kit is only 56" wingspan, you might want to check your measurement to be sure.

Looks like a Top Flite red box kit from the late 70's early 80's especially the cowl. Go to Top Flite on line and see if the plans are available and match your plane. The planes flew well but needed a 90 to really fly good.

Look like the Great Planes Corsair to me.. I haven't seen the Top Flight Red Box kit.

http://www.greatplanes.com/airplanes/gpma0177.html

I have a GP .40 size corsair in the garage..
It looks the same.. 2 piece cowl (front and back sections)
Flat sides, no retracts.. (can't do it without hacking the main spar in half)

Well now that I look close I see a few odd things on the tail that may change my mind..

One thing is the rudder.. the GP kit has a counter balanced rudder set forward of the elevators..
This looks like the rudder is back even with them and has a straight hinge line to the top.

YOU ARE CORRECT I found this websight http://webpages.charter.net/rcfu/Kit...MWCorsair.html
THANKS so much
now I know what I have..
and I did install an OS-46 in mine and I mounted the battery in the same place as the websight stated.
ONLY thing I flew this bird last night and OMG
it was so Sencative to the touch I feel that I had put to much control throw into the Ailerons
This bird snapped on me while banking to the right I had to fly her Inverted to recover
So I guess I will dial in less Control Throw and try her again when Weather permitts.
THANKS AGAIN GUYS..
