Default Looking for info on the Giant Scale Planes P-26 Peashooter ARF

I'm not usually much on ARF's but I'm thinking of giving this one a try. Has anyone assembled and flown this plane and does it fly as well as the reviews say? How complete is the hardware pkg? Does it include wheels, control rods etc? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Steve,

The plane is really a great deal for the money. Most everything you need is included and the throws and CG are perfect. Now for the bad news. The landing gear is pitiful. This is why the plane is such a poor seller. After having mine and selling it I think I may pick up another and try to fix the problem. The wire is horribly small and flexible and without highly modifying the gear assembly you will NOT be able to land without flipping. I tried 3-pointing & "wheeling" the landings with no success. The only fix is stiffer wire and better geometry. I don't know if the Robart gear for the Great Planes Ryan STA would fit or not but it's the right idea if it did. Enlarging the wheel pant hole won't work since the wheels "walk" like a drunk stork on landing and any side loads are disaster. If it wasn't for the gear problem this would be a killer kit.
It flys like a dream and takes off and lands like a sport plane should with no bad habits. I had an OS 1.20 twin on mine and it fit beautifully and flew great. The weight came out right on the money with the old Duralite 6 volt pack to save some weight. A standard ni-cad pack with the lighter single-cylinder 1.20 would probably come out perfect also. Think it over. If you don't mind some tinkering it's worth it. If you're a flyer only, don't buy it!!
