Default Giant scale RAF Mustang kitbash NOW finished.

This is the world models 80 inch made into RAF mkIV 112 squadron, thanks for the emails Evan and Deputydog, it made the engine fitting and painting simpler.
ZDZ 40, top flite cockpit, elite RAF pilot, perfect paint camo, testors insignia and Pica 5th scale National markings (too bright but they look pretty good still.
Should fly it next week after final balancing, right about 17 pounds now with unmounted 5 sub-c cell flight pack included but unmounted.
Hope you like it and thanks all.
Good Luck
Paul

You're right Jakob,
a little touch up on the teeth and the eyes to finish. Needs a clear coat on the front and decals tomorrow when the paint has dried. I took these pics and just wanted to share them out. Today was the first day I put it all together and I guess I am too pleased with the result to wait. I might have forgotten them if you hadn't mentioned it though but I did have a drawing to work from which I used to make the paint masks.
Thanks

Kinda scary, looks so much like my GA-Q. I'll get that picture in soon.

Did you paint right over the iron on covering that comes with the ARF? If so what prep work did you do before painting? Looks Great!

Hi Kurt,
I painted over the covering, first tightened and it all up and made sure it was all sealed. Then sanding with fine 1/4 inch 3m sponge. Cleaned with alcohol and painted with perfect paint, 48 hours between top and bottom for masking.
It seems to hold well and I have tightened a few wrinkles after painting with a medium cool iron, no ill effects. I chose this mdel as the covering is all silver and once sanded looks like aluminum so if it does scratch or flake it will look like weathering. Sounds good in theory anyway.
good luck
Paul
