Warbirds Over Joe Nall 03' ???
Warbird enthusiants... chime in to who's attending the big Joe Nall 2003' event next week??
I'm ready for the 800 mile journey with a Ziroli Zero, Meister P-47, Ziroli Skyraider and a Top Flight P-51.
Last year we had some outstanding gaggles; four Stuka's together! Lets make an impression with the crowd and the SKS/Propwash video fellows this year.
Trailer's loaded.. see ya there!

Joe Nall Warbirds
I'll be there with my Yellow Aircraft Zero and Yellow AT-6. Might even sneak in my Balsa USA Stearmen (in civvie colors...).
Look for the trailer with NY plates that says "WW2BIRDS" (someone else got the "WARBIRDS" plate first!!!).
This will be my first time, and I am really looking forward to it ... so many of my flying buddies have said that it's just unbelievable.

trailer
Nickrc3:
Would you email some more pictures of your trailer? Is there a cradle for each individual fuselage, or are the cradles "generic"?
Are the cradles removable from the wall? If so, how did you attach them?
Wish I could make the Nall thing.

Warbirds
Hey Brian.
I've got a few pictures of the trailer set-up, but haven't been able to reduce them to a size suitable to post here. I'll work on them.
I feel this is the most efficient means of utilizing space when transporting these large warbirds. Horizontal pipes, racks, and sliding shelves may work fine, but I just prefer not to bend down and crawl around inside a trailer compartment.
The rack is a commercially available tubular steel item from Home Depot. I did modify them by sawing sections out to fix my particular application. The fuselage sits inside a piece of 5/8" plywood which is cut to an outline of that specific former of the model plan. Of course this pattern is firmly secured to the rack side. The rack itself is attached solidly into the steel frame of the trailer, at various locations.
Because of road conditions/vibrations, and the many miles I travel throughout the Southeast, I check the tightness of all these brackets often. In three years I haven't had anything loosen. And the trailer itself is top-shelf - Wells Cargo "Sport". I researched three of the big names in trailer manufacturing and felt the Wells Cargo was the Cadillac. They are pricey, but I intent to use it for many, many years.
